Refuweegee creates and delivers 120 community built welcome packs each month for refugees arriving in Scotland. We make sure that each welcome pack contains useful items, like shampoo and toothpaste; Scottish items, like tea cakes, irn bru and shortbread; and the heart and soul of our welcome packs, #lettersfaethelocals – a personal welcome letter from someone who is a little more familiar with Scotland than the recipient.
From welcome packs we have developed into community events, days out, buggy & pram donations and fortnightly free clothes pop-up events. We try to provide everyone who wishes to get involved with an opportunity to do so; be it through writing a letter, donating essential items, joining us at an event or fundraising.
